What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a format for syndicating news stories, so you can stay on top of the news that matters to you. Not all web sites offer RSS, but its popularity is growing as organizations such as CNN, Wired, and the New York Times use RSS to provide readers with the latest news.

Click here for a video from Common Craft called "RSS in Plain English". It gives a great overview as to what RSS actually is and what it does.

How do I use RSS?

You will need to download a news reader to use RSS. You can download an application or access using a browser, either of which will allow you to subscribe to and display the RSS feeds of your choice.

After downloading a news reader, you will need to subscribe to RSS feeds.  To receive news stories from Delta Sig, click on the RSS button on the homepage.  Then, copy/paste or drag the URL into the news reader.

Some browsers, including Firefox, Opera, and Safari, can automatically pick up RSS feeds for you. For more details, please visit their web sites.
