We’re now only 23 days away from the official start of the 56th and Biennial Convention of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. We’re excited that you’ll be joining us in St. Louis later in July.

As we approach the Convention, we will be sending regular updates to remind you of important information before you make the trip to St. Louis.

 14 Candidates for Pyramid of Excellence Awards Named

Click here to see which chapters are contenders for the 2009 Pyramid of Excellence Awards, the top chapter awards in the Fraternity. These awards will be given at the Convention’s Closing Banquet on Saturday, July 25.

Deadline to Reserve Your Hotel Room – Friday July 10

Friday, July 10, is the final deadline to reserve your room at the special Delta Sig rate of $149 per night at the Convention hotel – the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark.

If you have yet to reserve your room, please be sure to click here, or call the hotel directly at (314) 421-1776 and mention the Delta Sigma Phi Convention rate. The rate will no longer be available after that date, so make your reservations today!

Agenda Updates

The Convention will feature two new events in 2009, as well as a number of receptions and educational sessions meant to help attendees become better men.

Vegas Night on the Nile – This event will take place Thursday, July 23, and will include Vegas-style table games like poker, blackjack, roulette and craps. Each attendee will receive chips as they enter the event, and prizes will be provided at the end of the night for brothers with the most chips. There will be food and a cash bar available at this event, so be sure to attend to spend a fun evening with your brothers!

Alumni Appreciation Reception – The 2009 Alumni Appreciation Reception will feature the wine of host Justin Baldwin, San Jose State ’67. Baldwin is the owner and proprietor of the award-winning Justin Vineyards in Paso Robles, California, and he will be providing four different wines for a tasting at the event. All alumni and guests are invited to attend this reception, which will take place on Thursday, July 23 from 4:30 – 6:00 pm.

Undergraduate Appreciation Reception – Another new event for 2009, the Undergraduate Appreciation Reception will take place on Friday, July 24 from 8:00 – 9:00 pm immediately before the Pilgrim’s Degree. It will be an opportunity for undergraduates to network with one another, and for the Grand Council and National Fraternity to show their appreciation for all of the hard work put forth by the undergraduates during the last biennium.

Educational Sessions –Arrive early to take advantage of Wednesday afternoon’s sessions, and be sure to check out Friday’s outstanding speakers, Jack Needham for Alumni and Jason Welch for Undergraduates. On Saturday, four more sessions will take place during the afternoon for both alumni and undergraduates, so we hope you’ll take advantage of them all. Attire

Don’t forget to click here as you are getting ready to head to the Convention so you know what to pack. Each day has a required dress, so be sure to take a look to be sure you’re packing appropriately for the event.
