Delta Sigma Phi Foundation Announces $10 Million Campaign
Campaign Will Build Better Men

Indianapolis, IN – January 15, 2007- The Delta Sigma Phi Foundation recently announced its second major capital campaign Building Better Men: The Campaign for Delta Sigma Phi. The campaign is an aggressive effort to raise $10 million by July 2008 to fund important initiatives that will move Delta Sig into position to become America's leading fraternity in leadership training, academic excellence, undergraduate membership and alumni involvement.

Foundation President Mike Griffin North Carolina '86 announced the campaign on Saturday, January 13, 2007, in South Florida at the inaugural Alumni Executive Roundtable. "As we publicly announce this major initiative we are grateful for where we've been and for every donor who has contributed. We look forward to building our future together and making Delta Sigma Phi all that we can," Griffin commented after the event.

As a result of the Building Better Men campaign, by 2012, 75% of undergraduate Delta Sig members will benefit from Foundation-funded leadership training, 75% of our chapters and colonies will have competitive housing facilities, while at least 50% of our more than 4,000 undergraduate members will have a GPA at or above 3.0.

The Fraternity's innovative leadership training programs position it to become the premiere leadership training fraternity in the nation. "Expanded leadership training is one of the many initiatives that Delta Sigma Phi is pursuing to Build Better Men," says Scott Wiley Oswego State '97, Fraternity Executive Director. The Brotherhood Retreat, Regional Leadership Academy and the Leadership Institute represent a three-fold strategy to educate members during every phase of their undergraduate education. All of these programs are supported entirely by an annual educational grant from the Foundation to the Fraternity. In order to grow that grant and meet our goals the Foundation requires additional resources.

Building Better Men: The Campaign for Delta Sigma Phi will help raise the funds necessary to realize these objectives. Nearly $6 million of the $10 million campaign goal has been raised already through a combination of personal visits with donors, annual fund gifts and other planned gifts. Every contribution since July 1, 2004 counts toward the campaign goal. The Foundation will raise a total of $4.5 million in cash and pledges and $5.5 million in estate planned gifts. In recent years the Foundation has made significant strides in advancing its planned giving and major giving strategies in order to further the performance of this campaign.

With just over $4 million to go in this campaign, every member and every gift will make an impact on Delta Sig's efforts to Build Better Men.
