Chapter Specific Funds - Endowment Funds (“A” Funds)

The Endowment 21st Century Funds (“A” Funds) provide permanent benefit to the chapter. Gifts are invested in a permanent endowment, and the investment earnings can be used for educational purposes after the donations reach at least $5000. The “A” funds are an ideal option for chapters who wish to conservatively plan for the future. Because the donations are invested in an endowment, the money will be available for generations to come. The investment earnings are calculated based upon the average rate of return for a certificate of deposit each year, so there is no risk of the loss of gift principal.

The features of “A” Funds:

  • All donations are permanently-restricted (endowed). There is no risk of capital loss.
  • The funds earn a rate of 5% , unless donations do not reach $5000 within five years.
  • There is no administrative fee.
  • The permanently-restricted fund balance can be borrowed by the ACB for housing purposes.
  • The ACB can apply for grants and scholarships from available earnings after the fund receives donations of at least $5000.
