Robert R. Harris Scholarship

(available to Saint Louis University undergraduates)

In August 2005, the Phi Chapter Alumni Corporation Board and the Delta Sigma Phi Foundation awarded the first Robert R. Harris Memorial Scholarship to a deserving undergraduate from the Phi chapter at Saint Louis University. This year’s scholarship will be in the amount of $1,000. Scholarship applications for 2009-2010 will be available by November 2008 and are due to the National Headquarters by April 30, 2009.

Originally from Centralia, IL, Rob joined the Phi chapter in 1988. He served as rush chairman and president. Under his leadership, the Phi chapter grew from 20 to 80 members. Upon graduating, Rob joined the National Headquarters staff. He served as a Regional Director from 1991-1992 and as the Director of Expansion from 1993-1994. The Robert R. Harris "Paying the Debt" Award is name in his honor. This award recognizes those brothers who have made an effort to "pay the debt" by bringing men better than themselves into the Fraternity.

Rob entered the Bond Eternal at an early age. The scholarship is funded through the generous support of Rob’s family and friends as well as alumni from the Phi chapter.
