What is New Chapter Development?New Chapter Development (NCD) is the opportunity for Undergraduate men to create a new chapter of a National Fraternity at a college campus that the Fraternity does not currently exist. NCD can be categorized in two different categories: Cold NCD or Interest Group NCD. The two NCD types will be explained below: Cold Start New Chapter Development
A Cold NCD is a NCD that begins without any interested men on campus prior to the arrival of the Organization on campus. This type of NCD is typically driven by the University and the Interfraternal Council trying to continue to grow the University's fraternal community. Cold NCDs have been known to be instigated by Organizations and should only be done with approval from the University. While any Organization can organize at any public University at any time, it should be coordinated through the University's Fraternity and Sorority Life Office. Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity acknowledges that Cold NCDs are a great way for Undergraduate men to become involved in the Fraternity and Sorority Community on their campus. We welcome the opportunity to travel to any campus looking to develop values-based Communities and present what our Fraternity is able to offer a Fraternity and Sorority Life Community. Delta Sigma Phi encourages Universities and Interfraternity Councils wishing to expand to send all requests via e-mail or to Delta Sigma Phi Headquarters.

An interest group NCD is a NCD that begins with interested men on campus prior to the arrival of the organization on campus. This type of NCD usually begins by undergraduate men forming together and requesting information on how to become Founding Fathers and start their own fraternity on campus. Delta Sigma Phi encourages undergraduates and interest group leaders wishing to be affiliated with Delta Sigma Phi to send all requests by mail to Delta Sigma Phi Headquarters.
