What is Expansion?

Expansion is the opportunity for Undergraduate men to create a new chapter of a National Fraternity at a college campus that the Fraternity does not currently exist. Expansion can be categorized in two different categories: Cold Expansion or Interest Group Expansion. The two Expansion types will be explained below:

Cold Start Expansion

A Cold Expansion is an expansion that begins without any interested men on campus prior to the arrival of the Organization on campus. This type of expansion is typically driven by the University and the Interfraternal Council trying to continue to grow the University's fraternal community.

Cold Expansions have been known to be instigated by Organizations and should only be done with approval from the University. While any Organization can organize at any public University at any time, it should be coordinated through the University's Fraternity and Sorority Life Office.

Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity acknowledges that Cold Expansions are a great way for Undergraduate men to become involved in the Fraternity and Sorority Community on their campus. We welcome the opportunity to travel to any campus looking to develop values-based Communities and present what our Fraternity is able to offer a Fraternity and Sorority Life Community.

Delta Sigma Phi encourages Universities and Interfraternity Councils wishing to expand to send all requests to recruitment@deltasig.org or to Delta Sigma Phi Headquarters.
