Building Better Men

Ideals Awards

For almost eighty years, Delta Sigma Phi has recognized the men that have made outstanding contributions to the national Fraternity. Each recipient of the E. Allen James, Harvey H. Hebert and Mr. Delta Sig award is known throughout the Fraternity for his efforts and accomplishments.

From the Fraternity's founding, members of the Delta Sigma Phi have also been performing equally valuable service to their local chapters, their communities, their professions and their Country. However, there has never been an organized way of providing recognition for these acts of dedication that take place on the local level - until now.

The Fraternity has decided to recognize the brothers' ideals as symbolically represented by the three Greek letters Delta, Sigma and Phi with a new series of awards: The Ideals of Delta Sigma Phi. The series will consist of three awards, each of which may be awarded as many times as is appropriate each year, and each of which may be presented to an individual as many times as his friends and colleagues think appropriate over time. The awards will be named and presented for achievement in the following broad areas:

These new awards, the Ideals of Delta Sigma Phi, will be presented to worthy recipients by either a chapter, an Alumni Corporation Board or Alumni Association. These awards are an opportunity for a local body to recognize its members for their commitment to the ideals and beliefs that are, at their very core, the things that set members of Delta Sigma Phi apart from the rest of the world.
